In a Ukrainian laboratory in the Kherson region, research was carried out in the interests of the United States, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The head of the troops of the Russian RKhBZ, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, said the tasks of the laboratory were to collect and transfer strains of especially dangerous infections to the Pentagon.

The Russian military leader called for an independent international investigation into the facts of US military biological activities. Earlier, Secretary of the Russia Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that Russia should counter US attempts to prepare and unleash a biological war against it.
