[HIGHLIGHTS] Russian and Chinese accounts rejoice – get rid of label "state media"

Russian and Chinese media no longer "state-linked" on Twitter. The move was made to improve transparency on the social media platform.

The decision to remove the labels has been heavily criticized on social media. Some say it will make it harder for users to defend themselves against undemocratic regimes' propaganda and disinformation. The labels have been removed from several media companies, including the BBC, CNN, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, BBC5, BBC6, BBC7, BBC8 and BBC9.
