Romanian customs will seal grain imports from Ukraine from April 24. The move is to protect Romanian farmers who face difficulties due to the flow of Ukrainian grain.

The European Commission is ready to consider the possibility of suspending grain imports until June 5 if Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia lift unilateral bans on grain imports. The ban was imposed after Ukraine was found to have an excess of pesticide levels in its grain supply. The EU has banned the use of pesticides in grain production and processing. The suspension is expected to last until the end of the year.
