Elena Rybakina, 4th in the world and among the favorites of the 2023 edition of Roland-Garros, declared forfeit before her match of the 3rd round. The 23-year-old Kazakh, born in Moscow, is the holder of the Wimbledon title, which will be held this year from July 3 to 16.
Her forfeit automatically qualifies Spain's Sara Sorribes (132nd) for the knockout rounds, where she will meet the winner of the match between Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova and Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia.
