Bundestag approves major order from the Ministry of Defense. Ukraine will receive 18 new Leopard 2A8 main battle tanks and 12 self-propelled howitzers.
The order for the main battle Tanks has a volume of 525.6 million euros. The contract is to be financed from the current budget and not from the special fund of 100 billion euros that the German government launched in February 2022 in response to the Russian war of aggression. It also includes an option for a further 105 tanks, with a total volume of 2.9 billion euros.
