There are around 50,000 allotments in Sweden, just over half with cottages on. Now the Colonial Garden Association demands that the country's municipalities arrange space for more people who want to grow.
Many associations have already been forced to close their queues because there is no reasonable chance of getting a ticket in the foreseeable future. The Allotment Garden Association brings together 229 member associations and over 23,00 allotment owners across the country. It's not just about growing your own vegetables, but just as much about contributing to people's well-being and cohesion.
