US President Joe Biden hosted a reception at the White House to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. In his speech, Biden spoke about his knowledge of fasting during the month of Ramadan and the virtue of abstaining from food and drink for long hours.
Biden commented on the many contributions of Muslims to American society, whether in military and diplomatic service or cinema, food and clothing. The ceremony witnessed the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran in the voice of Imam Makhdoom Zeya, and in the Palestinian keffiyeh.
