Irish rally driver Craig Breen was killed Thursday in an accident during a reconnaissance before the Croatia Rally. His co-driver and compatriot James Fulton "came out unscathed from this accident that occurred just after noon," said the team.
Breen, who had previously driven for the South Korean brand between 2019 and 2021, was engaged in a partial program this season. The last WRC driver to die at the wheel of his car was Portugal's Augusto Mendes at Rally Portugal in 1989.
