The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that a meeting of the Qatari-Bahraini Follow-up Committee was held at the headquarters of the Cooperation Council for the States of the Gulf in Riyadh. The two sides stressed that this step comes from the mutual desire to develop bilateral relations and enhance Gulf integration and unity.
They also stressed that the step also comes out of respect for the principles of equality among States, national sovereignty and independence, territorial integrity and good neighborliness. The meeting led to a decision to restore diplomatic relations between the two countries.
