Sweden is sending troops to Sudan to evacuate its citizens. Professor Ove Bring says the move is in accordance with international law.

He says it is an opportunity for other countries to protect their own citizens. He does not believe that any of the Sudanese parties see the armed action as a provocation. The Foreign Affairs Committee says there is scope for limited evacuation efforts involving its own citizens in exceptional security situations. The committee's wording "natural" according to the professor, who says the decision is not to interfere in the conflict.
