Cyclone Mocha is the strongest cyclone in more than 10 years in the Bay of Bengal. It is expected to follow a trajectory between Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, and Sittwe in Myanmar.

It uprooted trees, swept away tin houses in camps for displaced Rohingya and caused a major tidal wave in coastal areas. Nearly 300,000 Bengalis have been evacuated from their homes and thousands have fled the tourist island of St. Maarten on the path of Mocha. The increasing intensity of natural disasters in recent years is partly attributed to climate change.
