Gustavo Petro gave an aggressive, radical speech, closing ranks with his own instead of building bridges with political parties. He threw darts at the Spain that discovered America, in line with what became customary among the leaders of the southern hemisphere on the other side of the Atlantic.

Petro also took advantage of the day to celebrate the ceremony, at the Nariño Palace, of the inauguration of the seven new ministers who make up a more radical, more Petrist cabinet, without independents or centrists.
