Lithuanian Rifle Union is an integral part of the country's defense strategy. The association has a total of 14,000 members.

Since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine, around 3000 people joined. Among them are doctors, lawyers, bankers and lecturers. The force is expected to grow to 50,000 by the end of the year. The "Schützenunion" receives about five times as much as the defense budget, which has increased by five times.
