[HIGHLIGHTS] Opposition united in criticism – divided on concrete proposals

Opposition parties in the Riksdag present their shadow budgets. There is a broad consensus on the criticism of the government.

But the concrete political proposals in the opposition parties are scattered. It will probably be some time before the opposition will be able to rally around a common government alternative before the next election in 2026, says Jens-Erik Persson-Brockhoff of the Swedish Institute for International Studies. The Left Party and the Green Party are the parties that want to invest most in the local government sector.
