For the first time, Swedes' beliefs in paranormal abilities have been studied in a SOM survey. 40 percent of respondents stated that they believe there are people today who possess at least one of the six selected paranormal abilities.

Women were generally more than twice as likely as men to believe in it to a greater extent. Rural residents and believers in God were also more likely to "answer yes" to the survey's question about people who can converse with the dead. The survey was carried out by the SOM Institute in Stockholm.
