Hong Kong ushered in a wave of mainland visitors during the first Labour Day holiday after full customs clearance. Many mainland cities have already booked out high-speed rail tickets to Hong Kong two days before the holiday.

The number of hotel bookings in Hong Kong by Mainland visitors also increased by nearly 20% year-on-year, mainly from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hangzhou. The frequency of the three cross-boundary bus routes of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has been doubled.
