Odette Nilès was the "fiancée" of Guy Môquet and last survivor of the Choise camp. President Emmanuel Macron and the national secretary of the Communist Party Fabien Roussel paid tribute to his memory.
"We are losing a friend and comrade we cherished. The France loses a great figure of the Resistance," said the party's national secretary. The 100th anniversary of the creation of the National Council of Resistance was celebrated on May 27, 2023.
