Norwegian Foreign Minister: "The most important thing for us is to preserve the Arctic Council" Despite the Ukraine war, Russia has continued to focus on the Arctic, she says. The Norwegian Foreign Ministry fears that other countries may want to take over the role of Arctic Council.

"If this type of multilateral cooperation does not exist, other organizations may come in to take that role," says the Foreign Minister, Anniken Huitfeldt, in an interview with SVT. The Arctic Council will be dissolved at the end of the year.
