In 2022, total revenue came in at $26.2 billion, and streaming services today account for 67 percent of the industry's revenue. However, many artists testify that the remuneration from the streaming giants is too low. Nearly 90 percent of artists surveyed in Europe say that they are paid too little, according to the IAO.
