Kiruna's new hospital has been disputed for several years. Region Norrbotten and Kiruna Municipality invited to joint press conference.
No location announcements were given. Instead, it was announced that other alternative sites will be investigated. "It's important not to get locked into something just for the sake of principle," says Kiruna's one municipal commissioner, Emilia Töyrä (S) "We are prepared to look at more solutions – everything to get the new hospital ready as soon as possible," she adds.
