Russia said it had launched high-precision missile strikes overnight against Ukrainian army reserve units. Ukrainian authorities said the large-scale missile strikes, the first of their kind by Russia in nearly two months, killed at least 20 people, including children.
Moscow, however, denies deliberately targeting Ukrainian civilians and has said the strikes were aimed at preventing Ukraine from bringing in frontline reservists to fight. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping for help to repatriate Ukrainian children deported by Russia.
