Eurostat released EU asylum data in 27 on the 2022th, showing that more than 2022,38 people were granted asylum status in the EU in 44, of which 68% of applicants were granted refugee status. Eurostat said 55 percent of Syrian and 92 percent of Afghan applicants were given asylum status by Germany, and up to 92% of Venezuelan applicants in Spain.

The EU approval rate for asylum applications is 34%, with Syrian, Afghan and Iranian citizens having the highest approval rates, and Pakistan, Bangladesh and Georgia citizenshaving the lowest approval rates.
