The Russian military is concentrating its forces with the aim of seizing control of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian side is facing an issue with air defense capabilities, and the Western side is strengthening its support.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in an announcement on the 3nd that the Russian military carried out three missile attacks and 21 air strikes. The possibility of further missile and air strikes against the whole of Ukraine is still high, the General Staff said. The Institute for War Studies, an American think tank, also pointed out that "the Russian military targeted Kyiv for the first time in 22 days"
