U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the United States and its allies will discuss supplying Ukraine with more air defense equipment and ammunition.
Austin stressed that international support for Ukraine remains "strong and firm" more than a year after the start of the Russian war in Ukraine. The Ukrainian air force announced Friday that it had shot down on Thursday night eight of the 12 Iranian-made Shahid drones with which Russian forces carried out raids specifically targeting Kiev. The head of the military administration in Kiev, Sergei Popko, said "after a 25-day break, the Ukrainian capital witnessed a new enemy air attack"
