Social Democrat Jamal El-Haj attended a Palestinian conference in Malmö. Israel has criticized the conference for having links to the terrorist organization Hamas.
The Jewish Youth League thinks that the Social Democrats should exclude El-haj. The author Bernt Hermele also participated in the conference. The party leader Magdalena Andersson defends the decision with some hesitation, but says he will remain in the party and the Riksdag. He has to take time out from the Foreign Affairs Committee.
