Last Sunday Chile returned to the polls to try – for the second time – to elect the 50 members of the Constitutional Council. Among them, a curious character: Luis Silva (45), a prominent member of Opus Dei.

Silva is a constitutional lawyer, graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica, has a master's degree and a doctorate in the same area and for 19 years worked in an ultraconservative educational institution. He is a member of the religious movement founded by Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer.
