India's National Investigation Agency (NBI) accuses Kashmiri leader Malik Yassin of attacking the "idea of India" and seeking to cut Jammu and Kashmir from the Indian Union. The Supreme Court accepted the appeal even though the 90-day maximum legal appeal period expired nine months ago.

The court allowed Yassin Malik to respond to the appeal and refused to compare him to Osama bin Laden, saying the latter had not faced any court. But this did not help him with the current Indian government's policy of pursuing or liquidating anyone.
