Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid says members of Congress and Jewish organizations are concerned about the coup in Israel. Lapid met with lawmakers in Congress and leaders of major Jewish organizations to discuss the justice reform plan pushed by Benjamin Netanyahu's government.

"I assured the representatives of the Jewish leadership that the Jews of the United States should not abandon the State of Israel," Lapid said. Netanyahu announced on March 27 the suspension of his plan until the summer session of the Knesset (parliament), which begins on April 30.
