Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) wants an upper limit of 200,000 refugees per year. He also has in mind an amendment to the Basic Law.

In view of current refugee figures, it considers an annual upper limit for the influx of migrants to be necessary. "We want to show solidarity, but we are reaching the limits of what is possible," said Kretchmer. "And if a change in the law is necessary, you have to do it"
