Kenya's first satellite has been launched into space. The launch was delayed due to bad weather in the U.S.

The satellite will provide data on agriculture in the country. It is the first of more than 50 satellites to be launched in Africa in the last 20 years, according to a report by Space in Africa, a non-profit organisation that promotes space exploration in Africa. The first satellite was launched in 1998 by Egypt, and the second in 2010 by South Africa, the report says.
