Kenya: 26 new bodies of suspected cult followers exhumed, the case shakes the country. The human toll is likely to rise further in the coming hours.

Investigators have more than 300 hectares of land to excavate in the Shakahola forest. The sect's leader, Pastor Paul Mackenzie Nthenge, surrendered to police on April 15 and has since been detained with six of his followers. He had already been arrested last month after two children starved to death, but was released on bail.
