Johan Pehrson wants to be able to fine schools immediately when they have violated the Education Act. The announcement comes after SVT's revelation about shortcomings in teaching at the school group Thorengruppen.
Students have in various ways missed out on education they are entitled to at 23 upper secondary schools. The fines must be so large that they are also severe for school groups with a turnover of hundreds of millions, says the Minister for Labour and Integration. He does not want to go into exactly how much independent schools that mishandle education will have to pay.
