Prime Minister Kishida, who is visiting the Republic of Korea for the first time since taking office, held a summit meeting with President Yoon on June 7. The two leaders confirmed that they will strengthen security cooperation between Japan and the ROK.

They also agreed to dispatch an inspection team composed of Korean experts over the plan to release treated water from TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. It was "heartbreaking" in relation to the issue of "requisition" during the Pacific War.
