In Iran, a court has convicted ten military men in the case of the Ukrainian Boeing 2020-737 of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) shot down in 800. The commander of the Tour M-1 air defense systems was sentenced to 13 years in prison and payment of monetary compensation to the families of the victims.
The Iranian Civil Aviation Organization later reported that the air defense system that shot down the plane was incorrectly configured. 176 people were killed when the Boeing 737-800 crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran airport.
