The National Gallery of Art, one of America's largest museums, said the original 14-year-old "Little Dancer" statue made of wax was targeted by protesters. The museum said in a statement received by AFP that the "priceless" sculpture had been withdrawn from the gallery "to assess the damage it could have suffered" The Declare Emergency group, which claimed responsibility for the incident, wrote on its Instagram and Twitter pages, "Through a non-violent protest move, we smeared a work of art"
