The operation is over and the so-called "anti-terrorist" regime set up in the Belgorod region, after the incursion on Monday of armed fighters from Ukraine, was lifted on Tuesday, May 23. It lasted just over 24 hours, using artillery and aviation against about 70 attackers, according to the Defense Ministry.

According to the authorities, one civilian death and 12 injuries are to be deplored. Several portraits of the "saboteurs" – that's the term used in Russia – were made public Tuesday afternoon.
