Calm returned to some streets of Khartoum on Friday night after another day of intense fighting. Both sides accused each other of breaking the truce – the RSF in the morning and the army in the evening.

"We spend Eid with the sound of gunfire and the smell of death in the background instead of cakes, happy children and good time with family," said one protester. "There are so many patients that they are treated on the floor in the corridors because there are simply not enough beds," said another.
