[HIGHLIGHTS] In Los Angeles, a combative look at women in the Middle East, in the midst of the American debate on abortion

"Women Defining Women in Contemporary Art from the Middle East and Beyond" features artists from twenty different countries. Curator Linda Komaroff wants to "change the American attitude towards women in Islamic countries" An entire section is devoted to the representation of the vagina.

The largest contingent of works comes from women creators from Iran, currently shaken by a large wave of protests, since the death of Mahsa Amini, a young woman arrested on the pretext that she was not wearing her veil properly.
