The violence was reminiscent of the invasion of the Capitol two years earlier in the United States. He is also the subject of 16 investigations by the Electoral Tribunal (TSE), which could prevent him from running for office again in 2026, if he is still in office in 2028. He has been accused of publishing a video contesting the election of his successor, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
