The Brazilian president went to Beijing for a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping. Lula believes that the reasons that led to the creation of the United Nations in its current structure no longer exist.
He also believes that Brazil, India, Egypt, Nigeria and Mexico should play a more central role in international relations. The only possible way to end the conflict in Ukraine that has been raging for 14 months is dialogue, Lula says. The United States must stop encouraging war and start talking about peace, he adds.
