The Republicans will participate "of course" in the consultations on immigration. "This text never ceases to be programmed, deprogrammed and then reprogrammed!" says Bruno Retailleau.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin asked to present a draft law on immigration to the Council of Ministers, for a parliamentary examination in the autumn. "We want firmness at all levels, to restrict the conditions of family immigration, to expel all foreign offenders, to demand that asylum applications be filed outside, but also to regain our legal sovereignty," he says.
