Erdogan won a majority in 51 of the 81 states, but this did not guarantee him a majority (50%+1 of the vote) due to the different population density between the states. Kılıçdaroğlu won the majority votes in 30 other provinces, as shown in red, most notably the capital Ankara as well as Istanbul, the largest electoral weight.
