President Vučić announced his resignation as chairman of the Serbian Forward Party. He will set up a new political movement, including the Serbian Kadima Party, at the end of June.
In May, two mass shootings in Serbia killed 5 people, including children, and injured dozens. The escalating situation in Kosovo has also put Vuć under both internal and external pressure. The 53-year-old is Serbia's most influential politician, just as he was when he stepped down as prime minister and became president.
