Hungary will ban until next June the import of grains and other agricultural products from Ukraine. The ban is to protect the interests of local producers, the official MTI news agency reported.

The Hungarian ban is temporary and will last until June 30, which according to the official statement could be enough to adopt lasting measures in the EU. Other Eastern European countries, such as Bulgaria and Romania have also asked Brussels for some solution, since their producers cannot compete with Ukrainian prices. The EU should take measures and rethink the corridors of solidarity, that is, a balanced distribution of Ukrainian products among EU countries.
