In 1959, the Maasai were expelled from the Serengeti because they disturbed nature. Today, the government has a new master plan: TheMaasai are to get out of the Ngorongoro nature reserve.

Tens of thousands of residents are potentially affected. Only a few hundred have moved voluntarily so far, according to local residents and human rights organizations. The government is trying to make life as unpleasant as possible for the people of the village of Irkeepusi.
