The United Nations forecast global economic growth of 2.3 percent in 2023, up 0.4 percentage point from January's forecast. The forecast for 2024 fell by 0.2 percentage points to 2.5 percent.

The United Nations said the outlook for the United States, the European Union and China had improved. But growth prospects for many developing countries had deteriorated amid tighter credit conditions and a rising cost of external financing, the U.N. said. The U.S. economy is expected to grow by 1.1% in 20 23, up from a forecast of0.4% in January.
