As clashes between the army and the RSF continue, many neighborhoods in Khartoum continue to be reeling from security, electricity and water crises. "We deserve Eid and joy, not fear and war," said 23-year-old Mohammed Zeidan after he finished performing Eid al-Fitr prayers at a mosque in the suburb of Kadro, north of Bahri.

Most shops closed their doors during the Eid season amid a scarce movement of those looking to buy basic needs. The movement of well-wishers in the streets is less than was the case in previous years.
