Skellefteå municipality receives government support to launch the Housing First model. The initiative will help people in homelessness to a permanent home – while at the same time giving them access to support measures.
The long-term plan is to make the activities permanent if the project proves to work in the municipality. According to the National Board of Health and Welfare, it is the only method that is evidence-based and that has a good effect on this group of people. It will start as a project at Individual and Family Care on 1 May.
