Young people in Vaggeryd municipality use nitrous oxide for intoxication purposes. In the last two months alone, Torleif Syrén has found and handed in up to 700 cartridges.
The gas is usually inhaled with the help of balloons and is not considered a narcotic drug. The municipality is now urging parents to pay attention to whether they find the canisters among their young people's things and to talk to them about the risks of using nitrousoxide as an intoxicant.
