Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. Haneen Baroud and her family in Kalmar, Sweden, celebrate the holiday.

"It is important to remind people of our cultural and religious background," she says. "We hope that the war in Syria will end soon so that we can return to our home country," says Hanein Baroud, who lives with her husband and three children in the city of Kalmar. "Eid is a very important day for us," says her daughter.
